SINUS

Concept and design of a micro-environment for birds.
Sinus was conceived and designed for birds born in captivity with the aim of bringing them back to their natural habitat as much as possible. The idea was to get rid of bars and replace them with a transparent dome featuring micro-perforations able to create an adjustable and manageable internal micro-climate.
Within this dome lies a real lawn that needs watering and cutting as it grows, allowing insects to populate it as natural food for the birds.
Without bars to mark the horizon, these little domestic-born pets can still enjoy the joy of nature.
Designed with Jordi Pigem, Sinus is part of the permanent collection of the Museu de Disseny de Barcelona.
